Cypress Net of Amateur Radio Operators

Cypress Net Kountry Klub Award

Our newest award is the "Kountry Klub" certificate, this is not a conventional award that you see for 10-10 related nets. This award involves the founders of the chapter* being worked on HF bands other than 10 meters.

Kountry Klub Rules

You must work 5 founding members on 5 separate HF bands and offer up proof of the contacts via QSL card confirmation of these contacts. For those slow on math this requires 25 contacts with 25 QSL cards.

Bands

While some are confused about what bands are HF bands you can use this list for reference:

  • 10 meters
  • 12 meters
  • 15 meters
  • 20 meters
  • 30 meters
  • 40 meters
  • 60 meters
  • 75/80 meters
  • 160 meters

Modes

Any and all modes available may be used for the contacts but cross-mode contacts are not permitted. Note that 10 meter FM is considered an approved mode. EchoLink contacts are not acceptable for the Kountry Klub award.

Endorsements

No endorsements available and none are planned.

Confirmations

All QSO's must be confirmed via QSL, no exceptions. The most popular method would be to use eQSL and then send in the images from eQSL in a submission email. More than one band is not possible on eQSL "cards"but paper QSLs can be used with multiple contacts on them. Any and all methods of confirmation must include the complete QSO data normally used on QSL cards. Emails are not acceptable confirmations. Also, you can submit your QSO's via LOTW, just copy your QSO's from the web page and email them to us (thanks to Stan, KK4SI for reminding us about LOTW).

Submissions

The submission method only requires you to email the QSL images to the Cypress Net Certificate Manager via applications@cypresschapter.org. In case your contacts are confirmed via paper QSL cards then you will need to scan then. If you decide to mail the QSL cards in then you must provide an SASE for their return, otherwise they go into the round file. Your submission for the Kountry Klub Award needs to be complete, no partial applications accepted. No permanent records will be kept as to who you have worked so the application needs to have all 25 contacts on it. In your email be sure that your callsign is visible, many folks have email addresses without a callsign it is so we need to know just who you are.

Foot notes

1 KB4VNF resigned from the Cypress Net 24 June 2009, more info here: KB4VNF resignation.

2 KD4WOV was removed from the Cypress Net membership due to misconduct towards other Cypress Net members.

3 KI4WQG was 'resigned' by KB4VNF during his resignation speech, see KB4VNF above.

* Contrary to his QRZ posting, KD4WOV was not the founder of the Cypress Net.
