What About Contacts? On the air contacts are what makes for a successful chapter, the Cypress Chapter wants your involvement but there are also some issues regarding an actual contact that needs to be addressed. During a QSO with another amateur radio station on 10 meters you may discover the other station is a current 10-10 member. Or you may find that the other station is working towards getting their required number of contacts to qualify for 10-10 membership. The exchange that transpires between two amateur radio stations on 10 meters must follow the format that Ten-Ten International has set forth as the standard: A legal 10-10 contact must be a two-way contact exclusively on ten meters. A legal contact consists of the call, 10-10 number, name, date, and QTH (state or country). At no time is it acceptable for a 10-10 number to be relayed via a third station. These requirements for a legal 10-10 contact have been affirmed by the Board of Directors.
This doesn't apply to 10-10 contacts but it will help you during your Cypress Chapter paperchasing: Out of all the awards and endorsements that the Cypress Chapter offers the Swamps and Scenics is the only sequential award. A sequential award is one that must be completed in stages, you cannot go on to stage 2 until stage 1 is completed. Page updated: August 20, 2007 |
