Cypress Chapter of 10-10 International

The Cypress Chapter Florida Symbols Awards

This series of awards are based upon the mini-certificates concept used elsewhere in our chapter with the exception that no certificates are awarded. Once you work and verify all Florida State Symbols you will be awarded the Cypress Chapter State Symbol Award. Collect one or more of these as you work other Cypress Chapter amateur radio stations on 10 meters.

This purpose for this series of ham radio awards is toEarn our Florida State Symbols Seals teach the amateur radio community about the Sunshine State by providing images and information regarding the Florida state symbols.

Many people inside and outside of Florida recognize some of our state symbols. But you may be interested in know in there are many more Florida state symbols than just alligators and oranges!

Working towards the Cypress Chapter State Symbols Awards are actually quite easy and the requirements to earn them have been kept simple to understand and easy to earn.

Unlike the Swamps & Scenics Award, this one is not sequential so you can work towards one or all of them in any order you desire. This series is also not an endorsement nor does it offer any certificates but it does offer on-air points upgrades for each you work. Points assignments are as follows:

  • Working one station holding a Florida State symbol is worth 5 on-air points.
  • Working the last of the copies holding a Florida State symbol will give you an additional 50 bonus points. You will receive points for working all of the Florida State symbol stations combined with the bonus points.
  • Since you obviously can't work yourself there is an automatic 5 point upgrade added to your on-air points (this upgrade is only for those who submit state symbol applications).
