The Cypress Chapter Digital Modes Award
This award series retired June 1, 2008. No more applications accepted at this time. Award is for contacts made after October 1, 2007. BASIC DIGITAL AWARD - Sounds easy but will prove to be harder than you think. To earn the
Cypress Chapter
In other words, you can't work the station on PSK and then ask them to QSY to RTTY, this is done this way to prevent problems during contests, sprints, and QSO Parties. Earning the Basic Digital Award will give you an additional 100 on air points. You can combine contacts, i.e. work KI4ZCB on RTTY one day and then Ole Swampy on PSK another day. Unlike all of our other certificates, the Digital Award is made to be printed out so you can manually enter the award endorsement number you earned. To keep things honest a roster of awards and endorsements dates will be kept on the Cypress Chapter web site. Yes, you can cheat and write everything in but it wouldn't mean anything as your true Cypress Chapter endorsement standings are kept here on the web site. These are personal achievements and don't count for anything regarding your Cypress Chapter with the exception of the additional on-air points you will receive. More on the Swamp Rat can be found here link. Submit your application by clicking on the image below. The modes used for the Cypress Chapter Digital Awards will be as follows:
More on digital modes here: amateur digital modes. Digital Modes Basic Award : In order to qualify for the basic award you must work any of these stations:
You may work any combination of these stations to qualify for the Basic Award but you must work only one mode per day. In other words, you can't work any of them on CW and then work another on PSK on the same day. Each Basic Award contact must be on a different day regardless of which of the three stations above you work. Digital Modes Endorsements: You need only 5 contacts with Cypress Chapter stations on 10 meters using the mode of interest for this endorsement to the Basic Digital Certificate. Acquiring any of the the digital endorsements will add 25 points to your total on air points. To promote the use of CW on 10 meters we are issuing the CW endorsement for the Digital Award after you complete a legal QSO with the chapter's club callsign, KI4ZCB. This endorsement is the only one that can be achieved using a single contact, all other endorsements must have 5 contacts per mode to qualify. The CW endorsement can only be earned through a legal 1010 CW (no cross mode) QSO with KI4ZCB, regardless of who the operator is. You don't necessarily have to work all of the digital modes listed on the award certificate! You only need to work two modes (of your choice) to get the Basic Digital Award, then after that you only need 10 contacts on whatever mode you are pursuing. If you chose to go no further than the basic then that is FB as well. The Cypress Chapter Digital Award is not a sequential award as the Swamps & Scenics Award is so you can work the digital modes in any order you choose. QSL card verification is NOT required. This endorsement valid for contacts made after October 1, 2007. The station you work for any endorsements must be completed following the Ten-Ten International's definition of an exchange. Which is: A legal 10-10 contact must be a two-way contact exclusively on ten meters. A legal contact consists of the call, 10-10 number, name, date, and QTH (state or country). At no time is it acceptable for a 10-10 number to be relayed via a third station. These requirements for a legal 10-10 contact have been affirmed by the Board of Directors. Along with the 10-10 number your reported exchange must show the Cypress numbers of both stations. All QSO's must be between stations holding Cypress numbers. Digital Award Summary:
